William Scherer is selected as 14th of the 50 most powerful People in Broward County by Gold Coast Magazine.

General counsel for the North Broward Hospital District. He joins Jim Blosser and Zachariah Zachariah as one of three key
Republican fund-raisers. He was tabbed by both President George W. Bush, and then Gov. Jeb Bush to raise $100,000 for their campaigns. One of a handful of Republican fund-raisers who have access to the governor’s office. He is a member of the Judicial Nominating Commission.

The North Broward Hospital District contract gives him fund-raising clout in the Broward County legal community. He showed his political resiliency by keeping the North Broward Hospital District contract through a Democratic governorship. He allied and then eventually split up with Sheriff Ken Lenne in order to keep the contact.

His political maneuvering gets more attention then his lawyering, but he is highly regarded as a malpractice defense attorney and has done work for the South Broward Hospital District as well. He is also involved in several real estate investments, including a partnership with Austin Forman in New River Village Apartments.
