Mr. Carroll specializes in business litigation, corporate and securities litigation, and complex litigation. 

He is a member of the Florida Bar, including the Business Law & Trial Lawyer Sections of the Florida Bar, is a member of the Bars of the United States District Court for Southern and Northern Districts of Florida, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit.

Mr. Carroll graduated from the Catholic University Law School, Washington, DC., and was a member of the Catholic University Law Review and Research Editor.  He was a legislative assistant to a United States congressman, and a staff writer for national political magazine. 

Mr. Carroll has appeared on ABC and other television networks.  His publications include, among others, "The Business Judgment Rule in Florida - on Paper and in the Trenches,"  Florida Bar Journal (July/August 2006), and "The Business Judgment Rule in Florida - Update," Florida Bar Journal (October 2006).

Mr. Carroll has successfully represented clients in numerous major litigation matters.  Some examples:

  • Prevailed at trial in a $100 million dollar lawsuit brought by a large developer against a municipality client.
  • Represented shareholders in large-scale action for securities fraud, breach of fiduciary duty, and conspiracy in a tender offer acquisition of a publicly-held medical company. After a multimillion-dollar jury verdict in the client shareholders' favor, the litigation was favorably settled.
  • Defended a large health care company and its officers in a multimillion-dollar lawsuit by former shareholders alleging securities fraud, breach of fiduciary duty, and legal malpractice by the company's general counsel, in connection with the company's acquisition by a large venture capital firm. Judgment was entered in clients’ favor after a jury trial. The judgment was upheld on appeal, and the losing shareholders were ordered to pay the clients' attorney's fees.
  • Represented the President-elect in several hearings and other proceedings in Broward, Palm Beach, and Leon Counties in the 2000 Presidential Election Litigation in Florida.
  • Has obtained eight-figure settlements for clients in multiple matters.
