Christian Levesque joined Conrad & Scherer's Washington office in 2008 as a Senior Associate.  Her practice focuses on civil litigation with an emphasis on international human rights and employment discrimination law.  Most often, she focuses on litigation that seeks to hold large multinational corporations accountable for human rights abuses. 

Prior to joining Conrad & Scherer, Christian practiced in the law firm of Sprenger & Lang as a civil litigator.  She represented plaintiffs in class action employment discrimination and civil rights cases under state and federal law.  Additionally, she litigated individual sexual harassment claims under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.  

Christian Levesque has been honored to serve as law clerk to both the Honorable Michael W. Farrell of the District of Columbia Court of Appeals and to the Honorable Hilda G. Tagle of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Texas, Brownsville Division.  Christian has completed legal internships at both the Washington Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights and Urban Affairs in Washington, D.C., and the Office of Hearings and Appeals for the U.S. Department of Education.  Christian also served as an adjunct professor at the University of Texas at Brownsville, where she taught survey courses on the American political system, constitutional law, and civil rights. 

As a Fellow for the non-profit organization, Global Rights -- Partners for Justice, Christian worked in Sierra Leone and Liberia, Africa.  In particular, Christian consulted on the development of a women's human rights project promoting equality under marriage, divorce, custody, and inheritance laws and increased access-to-justice for women.  Christian also conducted field research conerning harmful traditional practices, namely,  female genital cutting.  

Christian’s publications include: The International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights: A Primer for Raising a Defense to the Juvenile Death Penalty in Federal Courts, 50 Am. U. L. Rev. 755 (2001) and  Rehabilitation Research: Its Beginnings and Ongoing Contributions, 21 Am. Rehabilitation 31 (1995).  She is currently writing an article on the new gender laws recently passed in Sierra Leone in 2007.
