Scott Slivka’s practice focuses on civil litigation, with an emphasis on commercial and business matters. Scott obtained his Juris Doctorate from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, FL, and his Masters of Laws in Law and Government from American University in Washington, DC.

While in Washington, DC, Scott served in the office of Senator Orrin G. Hatch as a law clerk for the Senator’s Judiciary Committee staff.   In that capacity, he assisted in the preparation of Judiciary Committee hearings, proposed bills and the Senator’s balanced budget amendment, and legal reviews for judicial nominees.  In addition, Scott monitored all judicial opinions and proceedings involving constitutional challenges to the individual mandate in the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, informally referred to as “ObamaCare.”

During law school, Scott worked as a law clerk for School Board of Broward County, Florida, Office of the School Board Attorney, where he worked on employment law and contract issues, and as a summer law clerk at the City of Hollywood Attorney’s Office.   He also served as a teaching and research assistant for Professor Camille Lamar; in this position, he taught first year law students basic legal research, writing and analysis, and assisted with research for the Professor’s scholastic article regarding race discrimination in K-12 education.  Additionally, Scott was a contributing member of the ILSA Journal of International and Comparative Law, and was awarded book awards for his academic achievement in both Civil and Criminal pre-trial practice.

Scott is admitted to practice in the states of Florida and Colorado.
